Hi, I’m Sophie :)

I’m the owner and groomer behind Ruffled Tails, a home-based, 1-to-1 dog grooming salon in Littlehampton, West Sussex.

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and starting Ruffled Tails has allowed me to combine two things I genuinely love - caring for dogs and being creative.

My own dog, Winnie, played a big part in starting my grooming journey. She’s a Border Collie × Labrador with the sweetest personality, but she can be anxious around unfamiliar people and dogs. I started grooming her myself when she was a puppy and quickly fell in love with the process. It also taught me just how important patience, trust and a gentle approach can be for dogs who find new experiences a little overwhelming.

After completing my Level 2 Certificate with South Coast Dog Grooming Academy, I decided to turn that passion into Ruffled Tails.

As a bit of a perfectionist, I love the detail that goes into creating a beautiful groom, but your dog’s comfort will always come first. I work with one dog at a time, giving them my full attention and allowing me to tailor each appointment to their individual personality, coat and needs.

Whether it’s a puppy experiencing their first groom, a nervous dog who needs a little extra patience, or a regular visitor coming in for their freshen-up, my aim is simple: for every dog to leave looking great and feeling happy, comfortable and cared for.
